How can we help you?

Maintaining control

Most people gamble for fun and enjoyment. However, some people think of gambling as a way to make money, spend more than they can afford, or use gambling to distract themselves from everyday problems.

Following these simple tips can help make sure your gambling doesn't become a problem:

  • Gambling is not a way of making money or to escape any problems of any kind.
  • Gambling should be in moderation and seen as a form of leisure.
  • Use the deposit and loss limits tools to help you control the amount you can spend.
  • Never borrow money to gamble.
  • Balance gambling with other activities.
  • Don't gamble when highly stressed, depressed or intoxicated.
  • Only gamble with money set aside for entertainment, never with money for everyday expenses.
  • Never chase your losses.
  • Make sure you understand the odds/probabilities of winning and losing and the rules of the event you’re trading on.
  • Keep track of the time and monitor the amount of money you spend.
  • If you need a break from gambling, consider setting a timeout or self-exclusion.
