What is two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a way of making your account more secure. In addition to entering your regular email address and password, with 2FA enabled you will also be required to enter a one-time password which is generated by a third party application on your mobile device. This greatly reduces the risk of your account being compromised as each one-time password is randomly generated and lasts only 30 seconds.

How to activate

  • Visit the desktop site.
  • To turn on 2FA click on the ‘Settings’ tab and select ‘Login’. From here, select ‘Enable two-factor authentication’.

  • Follow the instructions on the pop up window. You will need to download one of the following apps on your Smartphone:
    • Android, iOS, and Blackberry: Google Authenticator
    • Android and iOS: Duo Mobile
    • Windows Phone: Authenticator
  • Scan the barcode with your app and enter the one time password generated by the app.

How to login using 2FA

  • Enter your email address and password as normal.
  • Select ‘Sign In’. A pop up will then appear prompting you to verify your identity.
  • Open the third party authentication app on your mobile device.
  • Enter the one time verification code as it appears on the app.

How to turn off 2FA

  • Visit the desktop site.
  • To disable 2 factor-authentication simply click on the ‘Settings’ tab and select ‘Login’.
  • Click “Disable”.
