We have recently launched a new mobile site, which allows us to iterate quickly and build new, exciting features, which weren't viable with the old mobile site.
Trade out feature
We have added a trade out button to the mobile site, which allows users to lock in a profit or cut losses per contract both pre-game and in-play at the click of a button. Find out the benefits of our trade out feature.
Keep bets in-play feature
The 'keep bets in-play' feature allows users to leave their unmatched bets live once the market goes in-play - giving you more opportunity to be matched at the price you’ve requested. Understand how the keep bets in-play feature works.
Following feedback from users, we decided to implement a two-click bet process similar to the desktop version of the site. This creates consistency across our products and gives the user a layer of protection if they make a mistake.
A driving factor behind our move to the new mobile site is to have a consistent responsive design experience across all platforms - mobile, desktop and apps.
Light or dark interface
The mobile site gives users the option to use either the light or dark skin for the trading interface. You can change to either skin via user settings.
A number of benefits to the mobile platform are unnoticeable to the user and have improved our infrastructure significantly.
This allows us to iterate quickly and build new, exciting features, which would have been much harder on the old site.
In addition to the above benefits, Smarkets's new mobile site has a number of other improvements, such as:
We now display the overround/margin for each market, similar to the desktop version of the site. Understand why calculating betting margins/overround is vital for finding the best odds and ultimately betting value.
The amount traded on each market is now displayed. This shows how active the market is and how much money has been matched on the market so far.
Users can now collapse markets they are not interested in trading on. This allows you to navigate events easier and cleans up the interface on mobile.
Improved navigation and search
The new mobile site has improved navigation and a faster, more reliable search functionality.
